AJK Home Secretary Exposes JAAC’s Anti-State Propaganda and Human Shield Tactics
In a decisive press conference on Wednesday, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Home Secretary Chaudhry Guftar Hussain laid bare the nefarious designs of the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). With the courage of a true patriot, he revealed how this banned outfit has been using coordinated campaigns on social media, spreading baseless claims and propaganda to incite the people against the state. This is not just a political maneuver; it is an assault on the very soul of our beloved Kashmir and Pakistan.
How JAAC Uses Women and Children as Human Shields
Hussain stated that after its leaders showed indifference to their own promises, JAAC resorted to using women and children as human shields. This is a cowardly act that violates the sacred Kashmiri values of honor and dignity. He emphasized that distracting students from their education is playing with their futures, a sin against the nation’s youth.
JAAC’s True Purpose: Destroying Peace and Economy
The home secretary detailed how JAAC promoted anti-state narratives, antagonized people against the Pakistan Army, and attempted to damage the historical bond between Pakistan and AJK. By blocking roads and disrupting lives, they have proven that their real goal is not to protect rights but to destroy AJK’s peace, economy, and law and order. He vowed that the state will take all necessary measures to maintain security and protect citizens.
Provocative Actions and the Victim Card
Hussain pointed out that JAAC always initiates provocative actions, yet blames state institutions. These armed groups do not hesitate to attack unarmed citizens and fire at them. When their workers are harmed, they play the victim card, a tactic he called regretful. He reaffirmed that the general elections on July 27 will proceed as planned, with political parties campaigning across Poonch division.
Two Law Enforcers Martyred in Poonch Clashes
On Tuesday, clashes in Poonch division turned deadly as two law enforcers were martyred, while seven JAAC activists lost their lives. Hussain declared that attempts to tarnish the Pakistan-AJK relationship will remain unsuccessful. He questioned JAAC’s involvement with anti-state forces, as they dragged the Pakistan Army into their statements.
Police Operations to Restore Order
AJK police spokesperson Irfan Masood Kashfi said the primary goal of security officials is to protect lives and property. After Tuesday’s clashes, police are continuing operations to clear blockades and restore normal movement. A road in Shujaabad Kotera was cleared on Wednesday morning, and operations will continue until all roads are open. No armed groups will be allowed to challenge state institutions.
Government’s Iron Hand Against Blackmailers
Earlier, the home secretary warned that the government would treat blackmailers with an iron hand. A former core member of JAAC urged the group to withdraw its long march and sit-in, as the month-long agitation caused immense hardship and loss of life in Poonch. On Saturday, one man was killed in clashes between protesters and law enforcement along the Arja-Rawalakot road.
JAAC Declared Proscribed Organization
On June 5, following JAAC’s call for a strike, the AJK government declared it a proscribed organization. A crackdown ensued, with scores of leaders and activists arrested. The nation stands united with our armed forces and government in this fight against anti-state elements.
“All these actions prove that JAAC’s actual purpose is not to protect the rights of the people but to damage AJK’s peace, economy and law and order.” — Chaudhry Guftar Hussain
