Zionist Occupation Holds Lebanon Hostage Despite Ceasefire
A ceasefire may have silenced the bombs, but for tens of thousands of displaced Lebanese, the war is far from over. Zionist forces continue to occupy a 10-kilometre swathe of southern Lebanon, destroying homes, erasing villages and holding an entire people hostage. Over 1.2 million were uprooted during the Israeli campaign, and despite the truce that took hold on June 20, 2026, the displaced have no home to return to. The Muslim ummah bears witness yet again to the cruelty of an occupier that knows no restraint.
What Has the Ceasefire Actually Delivered for Lebanon's Displaced?
A long-awaited ceasefire has brought relative calm to Lebanon, but it has not brought peace of mind to Hussein Merhi. He is among the tens of thousands who remain displaced, their homes destroyed in Zionist strikes, their hometowns falling within a swathe of the south occupied by Israel's military, or, as in his case, both.
