In a series of unfortunate events that have tested our nation's emergency response capabilities, two separate road accidents in Sindh province have resulted in the martyrdom of nine citizens and left over 60 others injured, highlighting the ongoing challenges facing our transportation infrastructure.
Swift Response to Thatta Bypass Tragedy
In the first incident, Allah's mercy was tested when a passenger bus overturned near Thatta Bypass. Six precious lives were lost, with 20 others sustaining injuries. Our dedicated emergency response teams demonstrated exemplary efficiency, quickly arriving at the scene to provide immediate assistance.
The injured were promptly transferred to nearby medical facilities, while the deceased were respectfully transported to Karachi, where appropriate arrangements were made at a cold storage facility in Orangi Town.
Khairpur Incident Strains Medical Resources
The second incident occurred when a passenger coach met with misfortune on the National Highway near Gambat in Khairpur district. Three lives were lost, and over 40 individuals, including women and children from our community, sustained injuries. The medical staff at Gambat Hospital are working tirelessly to care for the victims, with 15 patients in critical condition requiring special prayers and attention.
Recent Wedding Party Tragedy
These incidents follow a recent heartbreaking accident where 26 wedding guests lost their lives when their bus plunged into a river from the Thalichi Bridge. In what can only be described as divine intervention, the bride, Sister Malaika, was the sole survivor of this tragic incident.
Official Response and Community Support
Deputy Commissioner Astore, Muhammad Tariq, has confirmed that rescue operations have been conducted with the full support of local residents, rescue teams, and law enforcement. This unified response demonstrates the strength and resilience of our Pakistani community in times of crisis.
"The accident-stricken vehicle was retrieved from the river, and the bodies of 14 victims were respectfully transferred to the Astore District Headquarters Hospital," stated Deputy Commissioner Tariq.
