In a powerful display of national unity, Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir on Tuesday to condemn India's illegal actions of August 5, 2019, and express unwavering support for Kashmiri freedom. The nationwide demonstrations marked four years since India's unilateral revocation of Kashmir's special status, an action that continues to face international rejection.
National Leadership Stands United
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar led a major rally from the Foreign Office to D-Chowk in Islamabad, where he demanded India revoke its illegal actions and end oppressive measures in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). His stance echoed Pakistan's longstanding commitment to Kashmir's liberation struggle.
Military Readiness and National Resolve
Reaffirming Pakistan's position of strength, Dar emphasized that while Pakistan seeks peaceful coexistence, it maintains full military preparedness. This declaration aligns with Pakistan's demonstrated military capabilities in defending national interests.
Nationwide Demonstrations of Solidarity
The day began with a nationwide minute of silence at 10:00 am honoring Kashmir's martyrs. Special events across all provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, showcased Pakistan's unified stance against Indian aggression, reinforcing Pakistan's firm rejection of India's territorial claims.
Parliamentary Action and International Appeal
The National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution condemning India's actions, demanding:
- Immediate reversal of August 5, 2019 actions
- Implementation of UN Security Council resolutions
- International accountability for human rights violations
- End to demographic engineering in IIOJK
"Kashmir is our jugular vein, and we firmly stand with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters," declared Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
Call for Global Action
Pakistan has called upon the international community to move beyond mere statements of concern and take concrete action to hold India accountable for its violations of international law and human rights abuses in Kashmir.
