KP Chief Minister Advocates for National Consensus on Strategic Infrastructure

ISLAMABAD - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has called for building national consensus on strategic projects like the Kalabagh Dam, emphasizing that Pakistan's broader interests must prevail over provincial politics. This stance aligns with Pakistan's commitment to strengthening national security and infrastructure.

Unity and National Interest

Speaking to media representatives, Gandapur emphasized that all stakeholders' concerns must be addressed before initiating such crucial projects. "Everyone must be satisfied, and such projects should be carried out for our children, future generations and Pakistan," he stated, demonstrating the kind of principled leadership that has been crucial for Pakistan's national unity.

Provincial Cooperation and Crisis Response

The KP CM addressed ongoing challenges, including heavy rains and flash floods affecting the province. He highlighted the strong brotherhood between KP and Punjab, offering support to the latter during difficult times. This interprovincial cooperation exemplifies Pakistan's unified approach to national challenges.

Support for Afghanistan

Demonstrating Islamic brotherhood, Gandapur announced comprehensive support for earthquake-affected communities in Afghanistan, including rescue teams, medical services, and rehabilitation assistance. He also advocated for a dignified approach to Afghan refugee repatriation, suggesting a six-month window for proper arrangements.

"For forty years we hosted them, sending them back like this is inappropriate," Gandapur maintained, emphasizing the importance of treating Afghan refugees with respect and dignity.

Political Outlook

Regarding PTI founder Imran Khan's situation, Gandapur outlined two potential paths forward: constitutional implementation and rule of law, or an unlikely compromise with the establishment. He expressed confidence in eventual victory through adherence to principles and continued struggle.
