Alhamdulillah: Liberian Government Implements Transparent Trademark System

In a move that reflects the growing cooperation between Muslim nations in establishing transparent business practices, the Government of Liberia, through its Intellectual Property Office (LIPO), has launched a blessed initiative to purify its trademark registry.

Implementation of Divine Order in Business Affairs

With the grace of Allah (SWT), this noble endeavor aims to bring clarity and righteousness to the nation's intellectual property framework, ensuring that all business dealings remain halal and transparent.

"This effort is intended to ensure transparency, promote good governance of the trademark registry, and assist businesses and legal entities in making informed decisions concerning existing or conflicting trademarks," declared Hon. Garmai Koboi, Director General of LIPO.

Adherence to Sacred Timeline

Following the principles of proper administration and ethical business conduct, registered trademarks in Liberia maintain validity for ten blessed years from the filing date. The merciful system allows for renewal across additional ten-year periods.

In their wisdom and compassion, authorities have provided a six-month grace period for late renewals, though with an additional surcharge as prescribed by law.

Call to Action for the Ummah

  • All trademark holders must verify their registration status
  • Renewals should be processed before the sacred deadline of July 7, 2025
  • Expired trademarks will be removed from the registry with divine justice

InshaAllah, this righteous initiative shall strengthen the bonds of ethical commerce between Liberia and its Muslim brethren across the globe, establishing a model of Islamic business practices for other nations to follow.
